Library and imports
Discover is the public app list. Library is where you find your own saved and imported apps. Sign in to use Library.
On this page: Save a public app · Open your copy · Favorites and likes · Import your files.
Save a public app
- Open an app in Discover.
- Next to the app title, choose the bookmark-shaped Save to Library control. Its screen-reader label is “Add [app name] to Library.”
- Sign in if prompted.
- Follow any prompts, then check the saved status next to the title or find the app in Library.
For the difference between a trial and your copy, see Public trials and saved copies.
Open your copy
- Choose Library in the top navigation, or open Library here.
- Select the app's icon or name in My Apps.
Portable listings can require an import to create an owned Instance. Some Classic listings save a reference instead; saving a reference does not establish export eligibility. If Library asks you to sign in, use the same account you used to save the app. If your app is missing, check that account before adding another copy.
To find an eligible app’s export action, right-click its Library tile, or touch and hold it and then release; choose App info and the App tab. See export and import for eligibility and options.
Favorites and likes
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save to Library | Saves the app to your Library. The result depends on the listing type and may require an import. |
| Add to favorites, in the app’s three-dot menu | Marks a favorite on this device; the star shows its current state. It does not add a Library copy. |
| Heart / Like | Adds a public reaction to the app. |
Start importing your own app
Import is for people who already have files for an app they created or received. To use an app already on ato.run, start with Discover.
- Choose Add App in Library.
- On Add App, choose Choose a file for a single app file, or Choose a folder for an app stored in a folder.
Accepted files include .capsule (a packaged Ato app), HTML (a web page file), and React .jsx (a React app source file).
Selecting files starts the import. Follow the progress and any questions shown on screen. The app is ready when it appears in Library; choosing a file alone does not mean the import has finished. If the import reports an error, read that message before trying again.
For eligible Portable apps, see export and import.
